The NFR Jockey Academy is a Horse Racing Training program for aspiring jockeys who are passionate about careers in Horse Racing The Academy facilitates theoretical, fitness and practical training.

After graduating from the NFR Riding School, Apprentices move over to the bigger track for more advanced training. They also train on various other spaces to build varying skills. They complete a 25-element syllabus ranging from sportsmanship and effective listening to galloping in company.

As Apprentices get better, they move up to Jocks, Big Jock and Top Jocks. The main aim is to prepare them for their Exercise Lad Test and ultimately a successful Career as a World-Class Jockey.

One of the Highlights for the Jocks in the Academy is the Annual Pre-Gold Cup Scurry Races for Amateur Jockeys.
